NTK's History in brevi
NTK Integrative Systems was established in 1998 on the basis of Laboratory of Mathematical Modelling, which operated under State Enterprise 'VNIF 'MedEP' (“Innovative Research and Development Firm “Medical Electronics Engineering”),
then a part of Tver State Technical University (former Kalinin/Tver Polytechnic Institute). The main goal of NTK Integrative Systems is to effectively implement accumulated knowledge and experience in developing innovative hardware and software for healthcare and health protection.
The backbone of NTK Integrative Systems and its proprietary technology is formed by extensive fundamental research of variability in functional state (FS for short) of apparently healthy humans under stress from extreme factors of both natural and anthropogenic origin.
The founders of NTK Integrative Systems have performed a crucial role in carrying out significant research projects,
which started at Kalinin Polytechnic Institute and included:
- studying motion sickness as a part of interdisciplinary scientific expedition aboard the Vladivostok icebreaker;
- monitoring psychophysiological state of operators at Kalinin NPP and defence facilities;
- obtaining and analysing results of electropunctural diagnostics under conditions of orbital space expedition;;
- studying physical fields of biological objects (codename ‘Kortikoz’).
The results of the founders’ scientific work have become a foundation for a number of engineering projects in the field of comprehensive diagnostics of human state.
The prime employer for these projects was the Third General Directorate of USSR Ministry of Health. The resultant technologies were put into practice as a part of then-relevant ASPON/KASMON concepts. An exclusive role in software development for MedEP and later NTK Integrative Systems belongs to A.L. Rozanov, who was in charge of research and development efforts in the directions mentioned above.
Among milestones in the history and prehistory of NTK Integrative Systems the following should be highlighted:
- 1990-1992: the first series of 'Prognoz-Mini' devices is manufactured at Berdsk Electro-Mechanical Plant as a part of ‘defence industry conversion’ programme;
- 1989-1994: development of Flexible Automated Medical System (FAMS) 'Prognoz' under Third General Directorate of USSR Ministry of Health and USSR Ministry of Electronics Industry. This conceptual system encompassed various types of electropunctural diagnostics (EPD for short) as an integrating element, with which waypoints for further study with use of FAMS’ other diagnostic methods, thus allowing for an individualized diagnostic strategy overreaching into an optimal strategy for preventative measures;
- 1991-1993: hardware and software package (HSP for short) of 'Prognoz' is introduced under project codenamed “Molodost’ ”. The sites of implementation were preventative care centres for college students on the scale of the whole Soviet Union – from Kishinev to Ulan-Ude;
- 1994-1998: presentations of the bases of 'Prognoz' technology are met with success during several large international exhibitions in Germany. Serial manufacturing of HSP 'Prognoz' is started with the use of Western technologies;
- 1995: cosmonaut doctor Polyakov uses HSP 'Prognoz-Mini' aboard the MIR space station to model certain aspects of medical support for a prospective Mars mission. Included are studies of space flight factors negatively affecting the human organism, such as zero gravity, motion sickness, desynchronosis etc. The goal of the research was to formulate an optimal strategy of adaptation to these factors, including the use of reflexotherapy;
- 1994-2004: a number of extensive scientific projects is carried out, among which were works for Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant, Ministry of Sports of Tver Oblast’ in cooperation with the Department of Physical Education of Tver State University, and a grant project for Russian Foundation for Humanities;;
- since 1994: particular emphasis is put on participating in international cooperation on holistic approach to preservation of human health;
- 2013: CEO of NTK Integrative Systems A.L. Rozanov joins the Scientific Board of Medprevent Systems (Germany).
